SCDOT Closes Two lanes on SC 6 Crossing the Lake Murray Dam in Lexington County

South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) engineers closed one lane in each direction on SC Highway 6 in Lexington County Saturday night due to an on-going pavement problem unrelated to the flooding event.

One lane in each direction remains open.

The pavement problems are on the Irmo side of the dam on SC 6.

SCDOT plans to make the pavement repairs on Sunday during daylight hours. SCDOT has coordinated this repair with SCE&G. SCDOT and SCE&G have been monitoring the situation for some time.

SCDOT and SCE&G stress that this pavement problem has no effect on the integrity of the Lake Murray Dam.
